Donner visits Dutch Caribbean next week

No meetings in St. Maarten

THE NETHERLANDS – The Minister of Home Affairs and Kingdom Relations, (BZK), Piet Hein Donner, will pay a working visit to Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba from September 26th until September 29th 2011. Donner wants to survey the progress of the islands’ are transitioning into becoming Dutch public entities.

Donner will spend two days in Saba. He’ll meet the Island and Executive Council about current matters like healthcare. There will also be an administrative consultation regarding the financial relations between the Kingdom and Saba, a visit to the Under the Hill (social housing) project and to the harbor in Fort Bay, where an expansion has just been completed.
Donner will travel to St. Eustatius on September 27 to meet the Island and Executive Council on financial relations between the Kingdom and St. Eustatius.
Donner then travels to Bonaire on September 28 to talk with the Executive Council about the current state of affairs with regards to the transition to the Netherlands and financial relations.
Donner will fly to Curacao on the morning of September 29 and then return to the Netherlands that afternoon. This will mark the third visit of Minister Donner to the Dutch Caribbean this year.
