St. Maarten – Dutch Minister of Interior Affairs and Kingdom Relations Piet Hein Donner and Dutch State Secretary of Finance Frans Weekers arrived here Sunday and Monday respectively for working visits to the three countries in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom and the three special Dutch municipalities of Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba.

Donner’s primary focuses during the trip are accompanying Weekers on his first visit to Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba. He will also have meetings with the Governors and Prime Ministers of Curacao and St. Maarten on Cooperation Agreements, the monitoring committees for the plans of approach, the movement of people and goods and the Kingdom Conference that will be held in October.

The discussion on free movement was Sunday as part of the consultations that Justice Ministers are having. On Monday morning Donner will fly to Curacao to meet Prime Minister Gerrit Schotte and Finance Minister George Jamaloodin. He flies back to St. Maarten that same day for a meeting with officials here on the Safety Plan St. Maarten. On Tuesday the Minister will fly to St. Eustatius where he will meet with the Island Governor and Executive Council.

From Tuesday to Thursday Weekers will tour St. Eustatius, Saba and Bonaire. He will meet the Island Governor, Executive Council, business community, customs and tax departments of all three islands.
