St. Maarten – The defending basketball champions in the primary division, Ruby Labega are one game away from retaining the coveted title. Their fate will be decided in a game against Genevieve de Weever School on Friday. If the latter school wins they’ll have to play a second game after a short break.

In the secondary division the Milton Peters College team 1 will challenge the defending champions St Maarten Academy in the championship game. If the MPC team wins they will play a second game that will decide who gets the championship trophy and bragging rights.

“Students, teachers, parents and friends of Ruby Labega Primary School, Genevieve De Weever Primary School, SXM Academy School and Milton Peters College are invited to come out and cheer and support these young athletes as they get themselves involved in something positive,” the organizers wrote in a statement.

The first game tips off at 3:30 p.m. and will continue until 8:00 p.m. All games will be played at the L.B Scot Sports Auditorium.
