Curacao’s average occupancy peaks near 76 percent

WILLEMSTAD – The launch of direct flights by Air Berlin and Air Canada has had a direct and positive effect on occupancy levels at of hotels and resorts. The revenue per available room in 2011 was $84.01 while the average daily rate was $105.41 and the average occupancy was 76.2 percent.

The announcement of the figures comes on the heels of the January 25 announcement that Copa Airlines will begin non-stop service from Panama to Curacao in June 2012. The flight will allow passengers to connect to 63 destinations in 29 countries in North, Central and South America, and the Caribbean through its hub Tocumen International Airport.

Curacao is the airline’s 13th Caribbean destination. The new service will begin on June 10 and will operate four times per week.
