Companies donate bulletproof vestsPOSTED: 08/12/15 4:25 PM
St. Maarten – The police force will get forty additional bulletproof vests, thanks to an initiative by United Peoples’ party faction leader Franklin Meyers. Yesterday morning, Meyers announced at the beginning of a central committee meeting about the Cadastre, that he has approached four companies – Gebe, TelEm, Princess Juliana International Airport and Maduro Travel – and that they all had committed to put up the money for ten bulletproof vests each.
Meyers also acknowledged that the prognosis for Officer Gamali Benjamin is not good. “I understood that there is nothing they can do for him medically,” he said.
