Claudette “CP” Peters to heat up Heineken Regatta Saturday night

St. Maarten – Claudette “CP” Peters, an Antiguan born singer/songwriter/performer who is best known for songs such as Something’s got a hold on me’, ‘All I know’ and ‘Flaunt it’, is set to perform on March 3 in Marigot for the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta. Peters has been voted Antiguan Party Monarch five times, is known as a dynamic and versatile entertainer, vocalist and song writer and has become a household name among her peers and fellow countrymen because of her diverse talent and energy.
Peters has gained the respect of fellow musicians and artists both regionally in the Caribbean and throughout the US and Canada and even Europe where her song “All I Know” has been ranked as number one on various DJ Charts throughout Europe.

CP, as she is affectionately called by her fans, started singing in Church her schools’ choir at the tender age of 9. She considers her years as a member of the Youth Choir as her training ground and among her most rewarding experiences.
Peters’ passion lies in music, which is obvious to all as she hails from a family with a musical background, she has since gone on to claim the title of “Antigua’s Soca Diva” or as some would say “Antigua’s Soca Darling”. Among her accomplishments are winning the Miss Teenage Pageant, and she was chosen as an ambassador to her native Isle by Antigua’s Governor General under leadership from the Queen of England in which she was honored with the Title of “Order of The Most Princely Heritage (OH). Other awards and nominations include: “Best Female Artist”, “Best Gospel”, The Best New Female Soca Artist Award for her song ‘All I Know’ at the International Soca Awards held in New York.
She has since been making strides in the music industry with her most recent Video release of herself penned song ‘Flaunt It’ and most recently her collaboration and video with Machel Montano performing the official 20/20 song during the Standford 20/20 Cricket Tournament with the song “Come Rise With Me”. She has recently completed her third video for her song “Go Claudette Go” soon to be released.

With her undying determination and will, CP has made a name for herself and she is now on the road to fulfilling her international dream of leaving her mark on the wall of all the great Caribbean artists before her!!
She is also actively involved in assisting the youth in her country by going into the local schools and leaving them with words of hope and aspirations for a better life after school. Her deep involvement with local charity’s in her hometown began when she posed for an all star calendar designed to aid a local charity this was only the beginning as she has made it her business to frequent the charity to spend time with the kids there and also to perform for any event geared towards raising funds for them. This young diva is proving that giving back to her community and making a difference in the less fortunate’s life is what her success has been about as she sings her self-penned Gospel “As Long As I Have Life” a favorite among her fellow countrymen, she is truly using her talent which was bestowed on her by God to bless others.

CP, The reigning party monarch champion, first entered the competition in her native Antigua back in 2004 with her hit song ‘Something Got a Hold on Me’ with which she placed first runner’s up and then she returned in 2005 with her Trinidadian penned hit ‘All I Know’ which she used to claim her first Party Monarch Title with, she returned in 2006 with ‘Make Waves’ and most recently in 2007 she was named the first ever Slow Groovers Monarch with her popular tune ‘Go Claudette Go’ and also maintained her Party Monarch Title for the third consecutive year with her self-penned tune entitled ‘Showtime’.

She began her band performances in the hotels in her native Antigua with a local band “Ken Phoenix and Company” then she went on to become the female vocalist with popular Antigua Band ‘ Dread & the Baldhead’, High Intensity Band, Da Bhann and in April of 2004 she became the female lead vocalist for “The Taxik Band” who have now become her second family and this venture now marks the pinnacle of her career.

Peters has graced the stage with the likes of Tanya Stevens, Destra and many other high profile names, yet ‘CP’ has shown why she deserves to be alongside the top artists in the business with her professionalism, grace and seductive presence as she takes to the stage and captivates her audience, and as her presence proves, she is a force to be reckoned with. Her future ambition is to continue to be an ambassador for her native Antigua and also to be a positive role model for the younger generation coming up and also to continue being a beacon of hope for the less fortunate in her community while playing her number one role of mother to her daughter. Her professional goals presently consist of her working to developing her talent in order to claim even more international recognition.
