Civil Registry unable to issue drivers licenses and process passport applications

Identification Cards available again

St. Maarten – The Civil Registry Department announced Tuesday that it can once again issue Identification Cards (ID). Applicants can visit the office during regular office hours.
People still won’t be able to get drivers licenses and there is also a problem with the hardware that supports the operations of the department’s passport system. This means the Civil Registry is unable to issue passport services at this point in time.
“The department is awaiting the delivery of replacement material and the public will be informed when this service is available again,” a release from the Department of Communications stated.
“The management of the Civil Registry Department apologizes for any inconvenience that this may cause.”
