Civil Registry’s passport system functioning again

POSTED: 10/27/11 12:50 PM

St. Maarten – The Civil Registry will resume the issuing of passports today. They had to stop last week because of unforeseen technical matters with the hardware that supports the operations of the department’s passport system.
People who want to renew their passport should visit the Civil Registry between 8:00 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. People can also make appointments Monday to Friday between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. and on Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
The department’s statement also reminded people who desire renewals that their passport should be valid at all times and contained an apology for any inconvenience that was caused by the system being down.
