St. Maarten – Minister of Tourism Franklin Meyers confirmed on Wednesday that May Lin Chun has been appointed to temporarily head the St. Maarten Tourism Bureau. It has also emerged that Chun, who has a background in marketing, has been hired as a consultant, not as a civil servant.

Chun currently works in the private sector as the General Manager of several companies linked to Tourism. She also sits on the board of the St. Maarten Hospitality and Trade Association as Second Vice President and Director of Marketing. She’s served in the public sector as well, having run the St. Maarten Tourism Bureau’s New York Office.

Chun’s consultancy is expected to begin in July. She will serve as the replacement of Regina Labega who has resigned the position to become the Director of the Princess Juliana International Airport Operating Company.
