St. Maarten – Chippie supported the annual science fair of St. Maarten as a bronze category sponsor. The science fair will be held at the Belair Community Center this weekend and will feature 26 entries from the various secondary schools on the island. One of the exhibits, Stop the Spill, made by two Learning unlimited students was disqualified from entry due to the young age of the entrants but was displayed nonetheless to showcase the project to science fair visitors.
Science Fair Secretary Caren Matthew and Learning Unlimited Science coordinator Preeti Notani and UTS Marketing and Communications officer, Ivy Lambert visited the exhibit Thursday. It was created by Grade 6 students Viren Baharani and Kyeisha Laurence. At 11 years old the two students were unfortunately too young to compete in the science fair as the competition is for ages 12 and up.
