St. Maarten – “The Board of Financial Supervision (Cft) has taken notice of expressions of Mr. Max Pandt made in the media. These expressions are of Mr. Pandt’s own account and are no reflection of the opinions of the Board.” Those two lines are the Cft’s response to a press conference Pandt held on Monday after being “thrown out” of a meeting by Finance Minister Hiro Shigemoto on February 23rd.

Pandt told the media that he did not believe that Cft Chair Hans Weitenberg would have allowed him to be thrown out of the meeting and shared e-mail correspondence in which the Acting Chair Margo Vliegenhart points out that Pandt attends meetings of the Cft Curacao and St. Maarten with the Government of St. Maarten as an observer due to his extensive knowledge of the island.
