Central Committee meets on contract abuse, prison and parliamentary crest

St. Maarten – The draft amendment to Book 7A of the Civil Code tabled by the National Alliance is the first point on the agenda of a public Central Committee of Parliament on June 28. The meeting in the General Assembly Chamber begins at 10:00 a.m. and the draft ordinance is aimed at eliminating the misuse of labour contracts.
The second agenda point is a request sent in by the United Peoples party faction requesting the presence of the Minister of Justice Hon. Roland Duncan to provide information to parliament about the situation and current developments at the national prison. The third agenda point concerns the crest of the House of Parliament.
Thursday’s meeting will be will be carried live on St. Maarten Cable TV Channel 20, via Pearl Radio FM 98.1. and on www.pearlfmradio.com.
