St. Maarten – The Head of the Bureau Ombudsman of Amsterdam Petra Visscher arrived on St Maarten on September 25th 2011 on a working visit as a continuation of the exchange program established between the Ombudsman of St. Maarten Dr. Nilda Arduin and Dr. Ulco van der Pol of Amsterdam. Visscher’s visit centered on reviewing the work procedures of the bureau with the Chef de Bureau Patricia Philips. The exchange also focused on complaints, the Strategic Plan and the policies and regulations established to govern the Bureau of the Ombudsman.
The Bureau Ombudsman of Amsterdam advanced the financing and will receive a reimbursement from Usona. The Bureau of Amsterdam will also advance the financing to cover the cost of training in Amsterdam for Complaint Officer Charlene Bell. Bell will leave in coming weeks after her trip, which was to take place in September, was delayed several times. It can no longer be postponed because of the time needed to do the training.
