Baseball players on French roster wing out today

GREAT BAY- Local baseball players Miguel Hanson, Marc Ramirez, Felix Brown, René Leveret and David Van Heyningen will be included in the French team that will be competing in the World Baseball Classic qualifying round to be held in Jupiter, Florida from September 20 to 23.

According to a press release sent to this office by Reggie Plaisir, of Skillz Management Group, who was instrumental in arranging the invitations for the government officials and players. Deputy Prime Minister William Marlin along with a few of his advisors is also expected to attend the quarter final event to show their support.

The delegation is also expected to meet with the Tallahassee officials organized by Arthur Lugisse, the executive director of the Tallahassee -Sint Maarten Foundation. Among the topics be addressed is the construction of a new baseball stadium for French St Martin.

“In order to develop baseball on that side of the island,  the games should be audio and video streamed on the official website of World Baseball Classic Inc 2013 and WBCQ 2012. World Baseball Classic Inc a subsidiary of MLB and IBAF are the organizing bodies of this event.  If team France wins St Martin stands to benefit via major destination marketing opportunities on ESPN Inc,” Plaisir said.
