WILLEMSTAD/CURACAO –The name of Sherwin Casper, the director of the tax accountants bureau BAB, has been mentioned as a candidate for the president of the Central Bank’s board.
Casper confirmed yesterday that he was approached, but has no further information. He is also willing to take the position. It is still unclear who will finally be appointed to the position after Rudolf Baetsen withdrew under pressure of criticism from coalition partners in Curacao. In St. Maarten Finance Minister Shigemoto proposed consultant Martin Hassink for the presidency.
