St. Maarten – The General Audit Chamber is now a member of the Dutch Association of Audit Chambers and Audit Chamber Committees (NVRR). The organization is a forum for exchanging knowledge and experience so that institutions can contribute to good public governance.
“The General Audit Chamber, as one of the newest institutions in the Kingdom, views the membership in the NVRR as critical to its growth and development as a professional and effective audit institution,” a release states.
NVRR’s activities include exchanging audit reports and publishing these via the association’s website, jointly developing and publishing recommendations related improving the governance and research of audit institutions, organizing annual conferences and regional meetings, developing and maintaining functional networks with other organizations among which the Ministry of Internal Affairs (BZK), the VNG (Association of Dutch municipalities), NIVRA (Dutch Institute of Public Accountants) et cetera and organizing courses and training related to public audits. The organization also awards the “Goudvink” each year for the best audit institution report.
