St. Maarten – Close to thirty electronic devices were donated to the Salvation Army by the American University of the Caribbean (AUC) on Wednesday. The donation was seen as timely for the organization that is about to embark on its summer reading and computer program for children.

A very informal handover ceremony marked the event but the St. Maarten chapter of the global    movement, with a mission to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and meet human needs, said that its value should not go un-noticed.

Included in the donation were 14 computer systems, six television sets; four of which have built-in VCRs, two DVD players, four speakers and an amplifier.

In April, the Honor and Service Society of AUC – a student organization, also assisted the Salvation Army by painting the interior and exterior of the organization’s facility.
