Arrindell leads delegation to Parliamentary Consultation

GREAT BAY – St. Maarten’s delegation to the Parliamentary Consultation of the Kingdom (POK) was approved in a Central Committee meeting on Monday. The approved list was based on the advice submitted by the Committee on Kingdom Affairs and Inter-parliamentary Relations, dated May 17.
The delegation will be led by the President of Parliament drs Gracita Arrindell. The political part of the delegation will be committee chairman Roy Marlin, committee vice-chair Dr. Ruth Douglas, National Alliance faction leader William Marlin and Independent Member of Parliament Patrick Illidge.
The delegation will be accompanied by a three member technical team that includes parliament’s secretary general Jozef Semeleer, former Lt. Governor and attorney at law Ralph Richardson, who is an advisor to the committee and Parliament’s communication’s officer Roddy Heyliger.
The P.O.K. meeting will be held in the Netherlands from June 13 to June 17. The Dutch States General, which consists of the First and Second Chamber, is the host for the gathering. Delegations of the Parliaments of Aruba and Curacao will also be in attendance.
