St. Maarten – The newly elected President of the Soualiga Corporate Toastmasters Club Joy Arnell has challenged club members to bring the government sponsored club to President Distinguished status while reaping the program’s benefits. That means the club will have to achieve all 10 goals.
Recruiting new members to the club has also been identified as a priority for the coming year. Current members have been asked to approach their colleagues and encourage them to join the Toastmasters as a means of improving their communication, public speaking and leadership skills. Civil servants who are interested can begin the process by attending the next regularly scheduled meeting, which will be held in the Dr. A.C. Wathey Legislative Hall at 5:15 p.m.
Joining Arnell on the board are Vice President (Education) Julisa Frans, Treasurer Catherine Conner-Arrindell, Secretary Swinda Richardson, Vice President (Membership) Rodney Richardson, Vice President (Public Relations) Leona Romeo Marlin and Sergeant of Arms Linette Gibs.
