Airport works on dividend policy

St. Maarten – A third party is currently drafting a dividend policy for the Princess Juliana International Airport. The draft is expected to be ready within six months.
The airport is recognized as one of the leading income earners on the island. However it does not pay concession fees and the government is currently trying to come to an agreement with the airport for either concession fees or dividends.

The absence of a dividend policy has attracted considerable criticism and calls for government owned companies to pay the government more than just concession fees as a structural way to provide the government with more revenue.
