Air Caraibes launches third weekly flight

The five bloggers who visited as part of the promotional tour for the launch of Air Caraibes’s third weekly flight pose together for a hand out photo.

St. Martin – Air Caraibes launched their third direct flight per week between Saint-Martin and Paris on December 10 by bringing five bloggers to the island. The airline also launched an online game and had ticket specials as part of the promotion.

The main objective of the trip was for the bloggers from,,, and was to create content on the destination and on the additional flight.

The trip was organized in a partnership between the airline, the French Saint-Martin Tourist Office and The latter is a community website dedicated to providing tourism and travel lovers with information on new destinations, trip planning and a forum to share their experiences. The bloggers were selected based on the size of their audience, whether or not it was a travel blog, if it had content related to the Caribbean and if it was a party blog.

The three day tour for the bloggers (December 10 – December 13) included the launch of the swimming pool at Loterie Farm, visits to Marigot and Philipsburg, hiking in the Natural Reserve, dining in the best restaurants in Grand Case, a reggae night at Calmo’s Café and party time at Le Shore. Each of bloggers then posted pictures, tweeted (posted on twitter) and posted on about the experience. Videos made by the bloggers will be uploaded to soon alongside information on the destination.

The new schedule means that Air Caraibes will operate flights to St. Maarten from Paris, Orly on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday until March 2012.
