St. Maarten – Finance Minister Hiro Shigemoto and Chairman of the Board of Financial Supervision (CFT) Age Bakker signed an agreement Tuesday in the Claude Wathey Legislative Hall at the Government Administration Building.
“This is a historic moment for me and for the CFT. We sign this agreement about cooperation, designed to move forward in a positive way. I am looking forward to a much better cooperation than we had in the past. What was in the past has been wiped away today,” the minister said.
Bakker called the signing “a moment of pleasure and an important step to underline the good cooperation between the financial supervisor and the government.”
“We have a shared goal and that is sound financial management,” the CFT chairman said.
