Advisory Councils discuss cooperation and common procedures

St. Maarten – Vice Chair of St. Maarten’s Advisory Council Mavis Brooks Salmon and the body’s Secretary General Niovis Winklaar met delegations from the Advisory Council of Aruba and Curacao on Friday to discuss cooperation. There were also discussion on and a four party, bi-annual meeting between the Advisory Councils throughout the Dutch Kingdom that will take place in the Netherlands in September.

Brooks Salmon said Friday’s meeting was an opportunity to share experiences and the Councils of Advice in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom can support each other and what common procedures they will use for advising Kingdom Laws and Kingdom Decrees. How to approach their various governments was also a point of discussion.

The delegation members from Aruba were Secretary Director Hellen van der Wal and Deputy Secretary Director Albert Braamskamp. The delegation from Curacao consisted of Secretary Director Cadlyn Raphaela and Deputy Secretary Director Ellis Davelaar.
