Academy celebrates science fair victories

St. Maarten Academy science fair winners of both campuses along with PSVE principal Solange Duncan, science fair coordinator Claude Javois, and science teachers of the PSVE Enid van Putten and Exzira Caines.

St. Maarten – Students of both sections of the St. Maarten Academy who were winners in the Science Fair competition were recognized on Monday morning at the PSVE campus. Students were commended for their excellent performances and the exemplary way in which they represented their schools.
The winners from the academic section were Ravindra Dayaram and Devesh Laungani who won first place in the 15 and over academic technology section and Douaa Azbouni and Clarissa Marks who won third place in the 15 and over academic science section.
The PSVE winners were Pui-yee Li and Temaia Dennis who were first place in the 12 – 14 vocational section. There was a tie for second place between Samuel Sooknandan and Jesus Mateo, and Tyreke Pitter and Stanley Walters. Third place was awarded to Franklyn Carty and Isaiah Wright.
Claude Javois, science fair coordinator of both campuses, acclaimed students for their performances and said it was a pleasure to work with them.
