St. Maarten – Next week Sunday is show time for the participants in the Little Miss St. Martin pageant. Two of the contestants are Enna Peterson and Genesis Meyers. An introduction.
Enna Peterson is described by her fellow contestants as “Miss Busy Bee.” “Enna loves to talk a lot, at first she is very shy but when she gets comfortable , that’s it and she talks your ears off your head, ” laughs Kiara Meyers last year’s Little Miss St. Martin Queen.
Enna is 9 years and she attends the Leonard Connor School. Her favorite subject is mathematics and her favorite color is pink. In her free time, she loves to read and swim. “I am very nervous, but I will do my best to make my school and friends proud of me” said Enna. “I would like to thank my mother and my teacher Mrs. Shemaiah Daflaar for helping me especially with my speech.”
“We have a few days left and the girls are eager to showcase their talents and of course they can’t wait to model their princess wear” pageant director Nzinga Lake said. “I want to take this opportunity once more to thank all the sponsors, media, parents , chaperones and the business community for their support and encouragement. Please come out and support the girls this coming Sunday”.
Genesis Meyers is taking part in a pageant for the first time. “I feel confident that I will represent my island, family and friends in a positive way,” 11-year-old Genesis said. She attends the St. Dominic School. Hobbies are singing and dancing. “My dream is to be very involved in the performing arts.” Genesis’ favorite singer is Celine Dion and her favorite subject is mathematics.
With a huge smile on her face , Genesis said “I come from a very big family representing both sides of the island, my family alone can fill Celebration Palace.”
Last year, Kiara Meyers of the Methodist Agogic Center was crowned Little Miss St. Martin 2011 on November 6th, 2011. Tsjaniqua Jeffrey (St.Joseph School) came in second and Shendrica Daal (Sister Marie Lawrence School) third.
The pageant will take place this Sunday November at the Celebration Palace from 4 to 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at Pete’s Photo Studio near Le Grand Marche on Bush Road, Van Dorp in Madame Estate and the Lama Guesthouse on E.C. Richardson Street in Philipsburg.
