Representatives of the Main sponsors for VxG receiving a token of appreciation for their involvement in the event.
St. Maarten – Caribserve’s Video X games (VxG) event kicked off on Thursday with gamers hailing from all over the world. President of the organization Jeff Oliver expressed his appreciation to all the sponsors during this kick off.
“St. Maarten is the ideal place for an event like this as we have so much to offer. We are looking forward to many more years of this event,” he stated.
It was a no brainer for many of the sponsors to jump aboard of this event. UTS and Fun Miles will have promotions and sign-ups for fun miles during this event.
Acting Head of the St. Maarten Tourism Bureau Gust Priest welcomed the gamers to the island. He also expressed that they got involved as they saw it as a way of bringing the world to St. Maarten. Some 100 gamers from around the world are here for the weekend event, which promises to become one of St. Maarten’s premiere events that will bring in people from all over the world yearly.
The groups competing in this year’s VxG will be Cross Counter, DMG and Empire arcadia. The gamers will compete for cash prizes as high as $3000.VxG and the gamers want to give back to the community andgamers from all over the Caribbean can get a chance to compete against some of the famous gamers for $5 dollars. At this charity match, gamers will be able to play a best of five matches against one of these famous players. The money for this will go towards the No kidding with our kids’ foundation’s afternoon school program. UTS, Caribserve and Chipster have pledged to match the amount of charity donations up to $1000.
