St. Maarten – The organizers of the Caribserve 4G Video X Games 2012 recently presented complimentary tickets for the competition’s inaugural event to members of the Special Miracle and Deliverance Ministries Youth department. The donation of fifteen tickets has been made to the young people for them to come out and witness St. Maarteners competing against other international gamers at the Sonesta Great Bay Beach Resort on July 13. The international event runs until July 15 and is expected to feature a high level of experience and competiveness.
The last edition of Video X Games was held in 2006. It attracted a record 250 participants, with over 60 of those from abroad. Over $7, 000 in prizes were given away and it is still regarded, in gaming arenas across the Caribbean, as one of the most successful video game competitions the region has ever experienced in terms of intra-regional competition.
According to the organizers, the three day-event will not only target video game players and spectators from St. Maarten but also from around the Caribbean region with its large gaming communities, which is estimated to be over 4.5 million avid gamers strong. That’s roughly 12 percent of the 41 million people living in the Caribbean.
The young people of Special Miracle and Deliverance Ministries located in Cole Bay look forward to the opportunity attend the summer activity and one of the group’s volunteers Ikeem Maynard has expressed profound gratitude for the donation.
