MARIGOT – In cooperation with the Réserve Naturelle of Saint Martin and the Brigade for the prevention of juvenile delinquency BPDJ children of the Be Wise Foundation and the Basketball Association of Saint Martin set out for an eco-citizen hike that gave them the opportunity to discover the beauty of their island. The hike took place under the supervision of a special educator of the Collectivité de Saint Martin, basketball trainer Axel Toi, parent Corinne Giltaire and basketball association president Laila Freedom who is also the project leader of the Be Wise Foundation.
After a wonderful hike through the magnificent protected natural sites of the Friendly Island, the children amassed a significant collection of debris along the coastline; they were quite surprised about what they found and put away in their garbage bags.
The basketball association said in a press release that American basketball coach Donnie Arey (who gave a clinic in Philipsburg in February) also took part in the event.
