St. Maarten – President of the St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce and Industry Arthur Bute presented Chief Executive Officer of the St. Maarten Harbor Group of Companies Mark Mingo with a copy of the Chamber’s camera study on Monday. The report was completed in 2010 by locally established consulting firms and covers Philipsburg, South Reward at the schools and all roundabouts.
The handover was part of a meeting where Bute and Mingo discussed the Harbour Group’s plans for installing closed circuit television cameras in Philipsburg. The Harbour has already placed cameras at the Simpson bay Bridge.
“The Chamber recommended for the development of St. Maarten that there will be more private sector and government partnership, this will create more economic activities for the Country of St. Maarten,” Bute stated in a release.
Mingo is thankful for the Chamber of Commerce’s contribution and support to the camera project, which has also been endorsed by Justice Minister Roland Duncan. Monday’s presentation has also been applauded by the Justice Minister.
“We believe that the success of this project is not depending on one’s only but with collaboration of team work. We are working on getting all the different entities together to support this project that will be a benefit for country St. Maarten,” Mingo said.
