St. Maarten – A recent donation by local insurance company Ennia, will go a far way in assisting the Women’s Shelter for its continued development. The company decided to support more social projects and organizations such as the Women’s Shelter that are needed in the community as part of its corporate citizenship.
The financial donation of an undisclosed amount will help the shelter fulfill its mandate of providing guidance, food and warmth to mainly displaced or homeless women and children in St. Maarten.
Founder of the Women’s Shelter Theophilus F. Priest expressed gratitude for the donation. His organization currently accommodates 16 adults and 6 children between 5 months and 5 years old.
“It’s imperative that women, who struggle with social dilemmas, get a second chance to enhance their life after being submitted to the care of such a shelter. Ennia is proud to be a part of this community, giving a helping hand is just another way of showing it,” Ennia’s Myrtille Brookson said.
