Letter: Pelican soft porn
POSTED: 03/9/12 11:53 AMDear Editor,
When Cable TV changed its packages last year, I decided to take almost all channels without exactly understanding what certain channels we’re having.
Last night I could not sleep. I was thinking all the time about the Pelican saga, or better: the Pelican tragedy. White collar crime against black workers. Simple people being betrayed by smart businessmen and hypocritical politicians.
I could not sleep, so I went to the living room, turned on the TV and started zapping. At a certain moment I was looking at soft porn. Quite interesting! You see couples, men with women, women with women, (not men with men), communicating in a very lively way. They do not talk but they use body language. Sighing and grunting they sort of desperately want to “come” to a mutually satisfying conclusion. Because it is soft porn you do not see the body parts with which they are communicating. It is like looking at soccer without seeing the ball going into the goal. Or, it is like seeing Pelican workers being f…, without clearly seeing how they are F…. Pelican Saga? Pelican Tragedy? No, Pelican Soft Porn.
