Art of Living Foundation offers free workshops
POSTED: 12/14/11 9:49 AMSt. Maarten – Art of Living Foundation is a volunteer-based, humanitarian and educational non-governmental organization (NGO). It was founded in 1981 by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar with the vision of creating a stress-free, violence-free society. It has reached out to over 300 million people in over 150 countries with its various programs. The Foundation operates as a social business and its main activity is to organize Art of Living courses; yoga, breathing, meditation workshops, education and trauma relief in regions of trauma and disaster.
One main technique that is being introduced in these courses is the Sudarshan Kriya which incorporates specific natural rhythms of the breath which harmonize the body, mind and emotions. This unique breathing technique eliminates stress, fatigue and negative emotions such as anger, frustration and depression, leaving you calm yet energized, focused yet relaxed. Sudarshan Kriya harmonizes the whole system by cleansing daily and accumulated stress. Studies show that Prolactin – a well being hormone -significantly increases from the very first session of Sudarshan Kriya.
Millions of people from all walks of life have been touched by the healing power of the Sudarshan Kriya. Villagers, corporate employees, housewives, teenagers, trauma victims, soldiers, leaders in business to government officials, prisoners, factory workers, university students and everyone in between, across all continents, all bear testimony to the numerous and varied benefits of this powerful breathing technique.
It is well known that emotional well being is directly related to productivity, concentration, learning ability, and success. The benefits of practicing Sudarshan Kriya are obvious for any family, business or organization. And results grow over time.
“From personal experience, I have been practicing the Art of Living techniques from the past seven years and I can easily say that the courses have helped me be a healthy person and be more proactive,” Maya Hotwanni wrote in a statement to this newspaper. “It has helped me to live in the present moment enjoying life to the fullest. Before joining the Art of Living I had some personal physical problems which have been cured. This miracle has continued with my husband Mr. Naresh Hotwanni who had kidney stone problems which have been cured without any medical help. I can honestly promise that The Art of Living courses and practices change lives for the better.”
Currently the most senior International Art of Living teachers, Dusyant Savadia and Azah Mulchand are in St. Maarten. The teachers are available for a free 30-minute workshop.
