Porto Cupecoy treats all five senses

St. Maarten – Porto Cupecoy, a Mediterranean-inspired waterfront village and marina in St. Maarten, announces the 2011-2012 lineup for the third annual ‘Arts in the Plaza’ winter event series. Available three days per week from December 2011 through March 2012, vacation renters and condominium owners at Porto Cupecoy will enjoy a vibrant calendar of critically-acclaimed French movies, live music performances by internationally-acclaimed artists, as well as local flavors at the weekly Farmers Market.

Take 1 – Action!

Monday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. are reserved for French Film Festival (English Subtitles) at Porto Cupecoy. Movie buffs will delve deep into French cinema in an outdoor setting under the stars.

Music to Your Ears

Wednesday nights at Porto Cupecoy sizzle with live music performances from around the world. Pop-rock lovers will enjoy a sensational performance by Shara Worden, the lead singer and songwriter for My Brightest Diamond and a 2006 nominee for Female Artist of the Year in the PLUG Independent Music Awards.  Jazz enthusiasts might recognize the Latin jazz and bossa nova compositions of The San Juanabees, a Richmond, Virginia trio. For a more upbeat tempo, catch Orange Grove, a Dutch/Antillean reggae band.

Icing on the Cake

It’s easy to work up an appetite at the picturesque setting of Porto Cupecoy. Culinary aficionados craving for local flavors can visit the Farmers Market on Saturdays from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and shop for local fruits, vegetables, gourmet foods and unique island crafts.
