Prince Bernard Culture Funds changes its namePOSTED: 10/21/11 12:20 PM
WILLEMSTAD – The Prins Bernhard Culture Funds Netherlands Antilles and Aruba has been renamed Prince Bernhard Culture Funds Caribbean. The change was made a month ago with a change to the statutes. The name change reflects a decision by the board to maintain one fund since the Netherlands Antilles was dismantled on October 10, 2010.
The Prince Bernhard Culture Funds was founded in 1953 to give financial support to activities, projects and publications in the field of history and literature, visual arts, performing arts, heritage and nature conservation on the six islands of the Netherlands Antilles. In 1986 the fund changed its name to The Prins Bernhard Culture Funds Netherlands Antilles and Aruba.
“In a period when each island is spreading its wings and determining their own direction the Prince Bernhard Culture Funds Caribbean is sure that together we can do more for the residents of the six islands in the area of cultural and conservation,” the group said in a statement.
