Three designated dispatchers for Ambulance DepartmentPOSTED: 12/9/10 11:28 PM
St. Maarten – The Council of Ministers appointed three dispatchers for the St. Maarten Ambulance Department during its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday. Minister of Public Health, Social Development and Labor Maria Buncamper Molanus did the announcement of their appointment on Wednesday.
The appointment will allow the Ambulance Department to have two full shifts of on call ambulance personnel. There are not currently sufficient human resources to make the third and final full shift possible. The Minister is hopeful though that the two full shifts will allow the department to meet its targets on response time of 15 minutes from the call and the service that is available.
Things are expected to improve further once the two new ambulances that have been ordered arrive next year.
