St. Maarten Nature Park injects Spanish feel into new horse showPOSTED: 11/26/10 12:21 AM
St. Maarten – Eight women of different riding ability and background will put on their first riding show at Seaside Nature Park on Sunday December 5. Entrance is free.
The performance will run from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and has a Spanish Fiesta theme.
As an additional element six children under 12 will put on the island’s first synchronized riding show involving youth. There will also be a flamenco dancer and guitar player to add to the feel the organizers are trying to create.
Both the women and the young people have been training for several weeks in order to get riders and horses accustomed to the format. Riders have also decided to create and wear costumes to boost the Spanish feel. The tapas and wine selection at the bar are also supposed to add to the feel of the event. Chef John from Saratoga will make the Tapas and Caribbean Liquors will provide the wine.
“Bring your friends and family and become part of this unique happening at Seaside Nature Park,” the park’s owner Roderick Halley wrote in a statement promoting the event.
